1. Agreement and who we are
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of boundready.com, its free tools, the waitlist and the BoundReady web app (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Maksim Khoroshilov, a private entrepreneur (PE) registered in the Republic of Armenia, registration number 286.1573997, postal address 26A M. Khorenatsi St., Office 201, Kentron, Yerevan 0018, Armenia (“BoundReady”, “we”, “us”).
By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you may accept these Terms for it. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy form part of these Terms.
2. The service
BoundReady is a web service that formats books. You upload a manuscript (for example, a Word file), review the layout in your browser, and download print-ready PDF files, EPUB files, cover files and step-by-step upload guides for publishing platforms such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark and Draft2Digital. All processing happens on our servers.
The app has not launched yet. Until it does, the Service consists of this website, the free tools and the waitlist. Joining the waitlist is free and does not oblige you to buy anything. Features described on the website are our plans and may change before or after launch. Early-access (beta) features may be incomplete and are provided for testing.
3. Free tools
The free calculators and templates are provided for information, free of charge and without registration. We base them on the platforms’ published requirements and show the date we last checked them, but platforms change their rules. Always confirm the final values with the platform before you print or publish.
4. Accounts
After launch you will need an account to use the app. You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live to make a purchase. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity in your account.
5. Your content
- You own your work. Your manuscripts, images, covers and other material you upload (“Your Content”), and the text of the books we format, remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.
- Permission to process. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you, including generating previews and files, making backups and giving support you ask for. This permission ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for backups that expire on their normal schedule.
- No AI training. We will never use Your Content to train AI models and will not allow our service providers to do so.
- Your responsibility. You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload Your Content and to publish the resulting books, and that Your Content does not infringe anyone’s rights or break the law.
- Your files. Files you download after a purchase are yours to publish, print and sell, in any quantity, without royalties to us.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content that is illegal, infringes intellectual property or privacy rights, or contains malware;
- attempt to break, overload, probe or bypass the security, usage limits or watermarks of the Service;
- scrape the Service, or copy, resell or sublicense it or its templates as a competing product;
- use a personal plan to format books for paying clients as a business (a separate plan for professional formatters may be offered later);
- use the Service in a way that harms other users or us.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
7. Plans and payments
7.1 Plans
- Free. Import, designs, previews and the Publish-Ready Check, with proof files marked with a “PROOF” watermark.
- Book Pass (planned price $39 per book). Final files for one book: all editions of the same title by the same author (for example paperback, hardcover, large print and e-book) and later corrected re-exports of that title. A different title, or a compilation of several titles, needs its own Book Pass.
- Author Lifetime (planned price $199, one-time payment; $149 for the first 500 buyers). Unlimited books for one person, including books under that person’s pen names, for as long as the Service is offered, with all updates to version 1 of the app. Lifetime plans are personal and cannot be transferred or shared. AI help is included subject to reasonable fair use: if usage is far beyond that of a typical author, we may contact you and limit AI help, but not your access to formatting and exports.
7.2 Paddle is our reseller and Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy, you buy from Paddle, and Paddle’s Buyer Terms apply to the purchase in addition to these Terms.
7.3 Prices and taxes
Prices are shown in US dollars. Paddle adds sales tax, VAT or GST at checkout where it applies and issues your invoice or receipt. We may change prices for future purchases; a price change never affects a purchase you have already made.
8. Refunds
Every purchase comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, handled through Paddle. The details are in our Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
9. Publishing platforms
BoundReady builds and checks files against the requirements that publishing platforms make public, and the Publish-Ready Check tells you exactly what was checked. However, Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Draft2Digital and other platforms make their own decisions, also review things a file check cannot see (such as content, metadata and rights), and may change their requirements at any time. We do not guarantee that any platform will accept your book, and we do not guarantee sales, rankings or print quality, which depend on the platform and its printers. BoundReady is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these platforms.
10. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, templates, designs, guides and website content, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. The fonts in your files are embedded under their own licenses (such as the SIL Open Font License), which allow you to publish and sell your book. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
11. Changes and availability
We work to keep the Service available and to improve it, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut down the app, we will give at least 60 days’ notice so you can download your files.
12. Disclaimers
Except as stated in these Terms and to the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You are responsible for proofreading your book and for keeping your own copies of your manuscripts.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if you paid nothing. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury, and they do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because Your Content infringes their rights or because you broke these Terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with that claim, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, after notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will survive.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard by the competent courts of Yerevan, Armenia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring proceedings in your local courts. Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you continue to use the Service after that, the new Terms apply.
